Fascinating Chad in African travels

In Africa, if it is the country of Chad that you are in, then there are a hundred things that you could do here. With Libya on the south and Cameroon in the east, Chad is a country that has some of the most fascinating places to visit. The Central African Republic lies to its north and the western side has Sudan.

At Chad there are innumerable places of attraction but do visit the N’Djamena. This is a place where the effects of war are still visible. This is the biggest Chad city and post war it is trying to gain back whatever beauty it has lost. This was once the most energetic city of Africa. As you come to this and see the bullet ridden buildings here, you would quite appreciate the cheer that still remains in the city. The marketplace is a lively zone with a lot more to do that you could imagine. Go to the National Museum and see the magnificent artifacts here belonging to the Sarh culture.

Also go to the Zakouma National Park where you would find the Bahr Salamat with its branches. The park is bereft of its wildlife due to the war, and also due to rampant poaching here. The Chad Government has strived a lot to get the animals back into the park so the area has got back to be what it was – a wildlife haven.

Another important travel pleasure in Chad is to see the Lake Chad. This is a greatly historic area and was once the main hub of the industry for trading salt. Today this trade is vanishing just like the animals in the lake. A nice place to be in and a great tour experience. August to December are great months to visit this place when you get to see the entire beauty of the lake and don’t be surprised to see a hippopotamus or a crocodile here as they dominate this place at these times.

Put Sarh on the top of your things to do here, in Chad. This is the second biggest Chad city and has its main income through the plantations of cotton and sugar. Go to the National Museum here and also the Center Artisan where you get some of the best take away souvenirs.

Then of course you have Moundou to visit, which is the third biggest Chad city. The Gala Brewery here is very popular and go in and take a round to see how delicious the beer is here. A little far away from Chad yet certainly on the list of things to do here.

Visit Abeche the desert beauty here and get enchanted by the charisma this place has. Walk along the cobblestone streets and don’t miss to visit the mosques here. The markets too provide a lot of interesting experiences.

Go to the Tibesti Mountains and enter the land of the Toubou tribe. Here is where you would find camels racing and get to enjoy the enthralling chasms and crags, which give the nature lover the best travel memories.
