Get Cultural in Gaborone

Let us take a look at what you can do here in this beautiful city.
Kgale hill
this is one of Botswana’s largest hills which is about one hundred meters in height. The hill is known for its lovely view of the city and the areas surrounding the city. There will be baboons around, so watch out. The best way is to keep on the marked track. There are no guides around.
While you are here, be sure to check out the games reserves. There are two in the city.
One is Mokolodi.
The most famous attraction here is the cheetah visit. In which you can actually get to pet a cheetah. While on your journey , you will get to see baboons , giraffes , wart hogs , zebras, elephants and hippos. Also , the park has some very helpful guides who will show you where to look and how to proceed.
Gaborone game Reserve.
This game reserve is smaller than Mokolodi. If you have your own car , then you can just drive around. The park used to have much less animals as well, but now, they have added a variety of species of birds, monkeys, wart hogs, ostriches and the latest additions to the park are zebras, wild boars and kudus.

Cafe Dijo
This place is great it offers free wireless internet, awesome coffee and it has a superb menu. This place is quite popular amongst tourists.
Nando’s chicken
Nandos chicken is quite famous and is an international brand of spicy and delicious tasting chicken. You will find Nando’s in most of the malls here.
Pie time
This is one of the best joints to get a pie. Dough filled with meat or vegetables that tastes delightful. Served with your choice of sauce.
News Cafe
This place is famous for its European dishes. They also have integrated European dishes with local cuisine , making a sort of mixed delicacy. This place is also famous for its cocktails. The Cafe also plays awesome music over the weekends.

Bull and Bash :
this is a famous English pub located in Gaborone’s north. Popular amongst the tourists as well. This place has big screen tv’s and entertainment centers like pool tables. This place is awesome for the weekends, the food is off the hook you may want to try the pizza and the barbecue ribs.
Irish Pub :
The Irish pub needs no introduction. Come and spend you evening with good music and a large array of drinks.

These are hang-out joints for students from the University of Botswana. The crowd here is mostly young.
