Namibia is situated on the western coast of Africa. It is located in between South Africa to its south and Angola in its North. The country is not very densely populated, and it is possible to drive through the deserted wilderness for hundreds of miles without seeing a soul. Swakopmund is a city situated in the area between the desert and the sea. This is a true oasis in the desert.
You can observe the German influences in the architecture. Hotel Europahof is one of the best examples of the European heritage. The city has a number of sights and activities. There are a number of beautiful buildings all around the city; even the prison building is quite beautiful.
Swakopmund is located close to the Atlantic Ocean, which is why it has a pleasant climate. The water temperatures are also quite low here. Mist is a common occurrence in the early mornings. There are ever changing dunes located on either side of the roads here create a fairy tale picture on the roads leading to Swakopmund. The entire area is a fairytale look alike that resembles something out of the Pirates of the Caribbean.

The Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment center is the beautifully restored Old Station Building, which is now home to the five star hotels along with a cinema, shops, restaurants and casino. There are a great number of options on offer for tourists.
Swakopmund has a number of restaurants. There are several options located all over the city. The Café Anton is a popular destination, and serves superb German pastries and Biscuits. The Lighthouse Pub and Restaurant is another destination that also has some beautiful views of the ocean.
The Naukluft Park is located right outside Swakopmund, and there are a number of attractions here. Entry permits for the park can be had from the internal affairs office. The entry per person is about N $ 40, which comes up to less than $ 4, and about N$ 10 for a vehicle. The Naukluft Park has a number of attractions, including the Welwitschia plants, which are almost a thousand years old, plus the moon landscape and the here.
Swakopmund is also filled with a number of attractions related to nature. There are a huge number of creatures here that are endemic to the region.
