Maletsunyane Falls is one of the popular tourist attractions in Lesotho. This spectacular falls is located within the highland area. It has the highest drop falls all around South Africa. You will not experience the magnificence of Maletsunyane River, which pours down of Maletsunyane falls, until you visit the falls. To discover this magnificence you are required to hike down a difficult path, next to the deep gorge. I am sure you will be stunned seeing the beauty of this waterfall. The gorge is so deep that no sunlight reaches its bottom, thus here you will find snow throughout the year. Archaeology enthusiasts will be surely looking forward to plan a trip to Morija town. Few of the popular tourist attractions here is the Morija museum and the so-called famous trails of Lesothosaurus dinosaur.
If you want to known more history about Lesotho, I would suggest you to visit Thaba Boisu. A great warrior and diplomat named King Moeshoeshoe had fought a battle here at Thaba Boisu to establish the huge Kingdom of Lesotho. The king had fought several wars against the neighboring, aggressive African armies and the white settlers. Thaba Bosiu is basically burial place of the Queen and King of Lesotho.
There is another exceptional site, which you would love to explore in Lesotho, is the Katse Dam. The area covered by this breathtaking site is 185 sq m. The Government of Lesotho had constructed this dam with an intention of selling water to Gauteng, a South African province. The massive artificial reservoir behind the Katse dam stocks up water, which is then fed to South Africa and is used for generating electricity for the entire Kingdom of Lesotho. Katse Dam is a high-quality engineering wonder and is only outshined by the splendor of the neighboring mountains.
